Description
ABO Group - ABO type and Rh are needed to identify candidates for Rh immune globulin and to assess the risk of hemolytic disease of the newborn.
The blood type test is used to classify specific antibodies and antigens that exist in red blood cells (RBC).
It includes the ABO Group (there are 4 - O, A, B, or AB) and the rH typing which will determine if the Rh antigen is present on the surface of your red blood cells. If the Rh is present, then you’re “positive” and if it’s not, then you’re “negative”.
